Windows saves all your documents and records on your system’s hard disk. This hierarchical organization of files and folders with in Windows is Virtual, not physical. The major folders on a hard disk differ somewhat from computer to computer, but Vista always shut in the users, programs and windows folders. These folders are placed in the need of your main hard drive. In the users folders contains all the settings and documents for every user account on your system. Every user has your own subfolder within the user folder.
The folder for every user contains additional subfolders for various types of files. Typical folders shut in Documents, Downloads, Desktop, Music, Favorites, Pictures, Video and Every Containing files of that special type. Files are stored with in a particular folder. All Folders can hold one type of file; file types can be mixed with in any given folder. The ultimate location of a file is noted by the special path of folders and subfolders in which it is contained.
